High Speed Internet Tips

Whether you are traveling for business or pleasure, it always helps to keep these tips and suggestions in mind.

  • Normally you will need a PC with Windows 95, MAC OS, or higher operating system.
  • An internet browser such as Microsoft Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator is usually required.
  • Remember to bring an Ethernet adaptor with the TCP/IP protocol installed and DHCP enabled. If your Ethernet adapter does not have an RJ-45 connector, you may need to provide your own cable that you normally use with that adaptor.
  • Generally, no special software or network settings are necessary. If you have a fixed IP address, some configuration changes may be required.
  • You should be able to send and receive email; however, some ISPs restrict the ability to send email when not connected to the Internet directly through the ISP. If you have problems with your email, contact your ISP for assistance.
