Travel Tips - Squeezing in MBA Study-Time While Traveling

MBA students certainly need high speed internet access when traveling. Today, distance learning is the only education process able to transcend geographical and temporal boundaries and in order for MBA students to make the most use of these learning methods, they will need steady facilitation via phone, email, and computer conferencing. Many business travelers find this type of MBA program to be the only way they can continue their education without putting their careers and families on hold.

Studying part-time to get your MBA while you are still working a full-time job can certainly help further your career, but where do you find the time? The balancing act between work, school, and family can easily be thrown off-kilter when business travel is suddenly thrown into the mix. However, business travel can offer some great opportunities for study if you plan wisely.

Managing the juggling act while on the road can actually provide you with some great study time. Flying is undoubtedly a hassle nowadays, but with all the delays and layovers, it can actually be a blessing in disguise. Take advantage of all those annoying holdups by simply keeping your textbook or laptop handy. During the flight is a great time to put on your headphones and cram away.

Most hotel rooms are now geared towards the business traveler; but don’t forget that they also offer the same advantages to the business student. A quite hotel room and a computer connected to the internet is the perfect distraction free zone for research, study, and writing.

Although traveling by car doesn’t offer the same freedom to read and study as traveling by plane or train; you can still use this time to place needed phone calls or listen to pre-recorded class lectures.

As with most things in life, the bottom line is time management, self-discipline, and motivation. And these are probably the greatest skills that you will learn getting your MBA.
