Hotel Safety Tips

  • Place the “Do Not Disturb” sign on your doorknob in order to discourage staff from entering your room.
  • Double check door, sliding door, and window locks.
  • Always keep the door locked and bolted and do not open the door for anyone without first looking through the peep-hole or checking with the front desk.
  • When first entering your hotel room, keep the door propped open with your luggage while checking the bathroom and closets.
  • When checking-in at the front desk, ask the clerk to not say your room number out loud around other guests.
  • Keep your room curtains closed.
  • If you are traveling alone, do not use room service breakfast door hangers because they ask for the number of guests in the room. You do not want anyone to know that you are in the room alone.
